Professor Lara Lomicka Anderson

 

 

Professor of the Languages, Literatures and Cultures, College of Arts and Sciences, University of South Carolina

Dr. Lara Lomicka Anderson (PhD, Penn State) is Professor of French and Applied Linguistics at the University of South Carolina where she serves as the Graduate Director and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in French and in language education. She is the incoming Vice President for CALICO and AAUSC. She has published in numerous journals (The French Review, Computer Assisted Language Learning, MLA’s Profession, ADFL Bulletin, Journal of Interactive Online Learning Language Learning & Technology, Calico Journal, Foreign Language Annals, The Journal of Technology and Teacher Education, Contemporary Issues of Technology and Teacher Education, and System) and has edited 2 books: Teaching with Technology (Heinle/Cengage 2004) and The Next Generation: Social Networking and Online Collaboration in Foreign Language Learning (2009 published by CALICO). She also serves as software review editor for the Calico Journal, Technology Commission Co-Chair for AATF. She was honored (ACTFL, November 2008) with the Award for Excellence in Foreign Language Instruction Using Technology for her work in technology and in 2011 she was recognized as a Chevalier dans l'ordre des palmes academiques.

Professor Françoise Blin

 

 

Professor of the School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies, Dublin City University

Dr. Françoise Blin is Associate Professor in the School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies. She was the President of the European Association for Computer Assisted Language Learning (EUROCALL) and the co-editor of ReCALL until August 2017, published by Cambridge University Press. She has been teaching French and researching the use of technology in language teaching and learning for over 30 years.

Professor Jozef Colpaert

 

 

Professor of the Antwerp School of Education, University of Antwerp.

Professor Jozef Colpeart teaches Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Computer Assisted Language Learning and Science Communication in the Antwerp School of Education, University of Antwerp. He is also the editor-in-chief of Computer Assisted Language Learning (Taylor & Francis) and the organizer of International CALL Research Conferences. Professor Jozef Colpaert currently working on the empirical and theoretical validation of Educational Engineering, a novel instructional design and research method.

Dr. Tristan E. Johnson is the Executive Director of Engineering Education Initiatives in the Graduate School of Engineering at Northeastern University. He is the Research Editor-in-Chief for the Educational Technology Research and Development Journal. He was previously Assistant Professor of Instructional Systems, Associate Director for Research at the Learning Systems Institute at Florida State University, and Assistant Professor of Educational Technology at Purdue University. He has served as the President for the Training and Performance Division of the Association of Educational Communications and Technologies.

Prof. Ray Yueh-Min Huang

Ray Yueh-Min Huang is serving as a Vice president of Kun Shan University, Taiwan, where he is also a Chair Professor in Department of Engineering Science, National Cheng-Kung University. His research interests include e-Learning, multimedia communications, wireless networks, and artificial intelligence. He received his MS and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona in 1988 and 1991 respectively. He has co-authored 3 books and has published more than 250 refereed journal research papers. Dr. Huang has received many research awards, such as the Best Paper Award of 2007,IEA/AIE Conference, Best Paper Award of the Computer Society of the Republic of China in 2003, the Awards of Acer Long-Term Prize in 1996, 1998, and 1999, Excellent Research Awards of National Microcomputer and Communication Contests in 2006, 2 times of national outstanding research award in 2011 and 2014, given to Taiwan’s top 100 scholars. He has completed over 60 Ph.D. and 250 MS thesis students. He received many funded research grants from National Science Council, Ministry of Education, Industrial Technology of Research Institute, and Institute of Information Industry. Dr. Huang has been invited to give talks or served frequently in the program committee at national and international conferences.

 

 

 

 

Prof. Yao-Ting Sung

Professor Yao-Ting Sung has received several awards for excellence in academic achievement, including Da-Yu Wu Memorial Award and three Outstanding Research Awards issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology (formerly the National Science Council). His research focuses on educational psychology, psychological and educational assessment, computer-assisted learning and testing, as well as Chinese text analysis. Prof. Sung directs a world-leading team that specializes in bringing cutting-edge academic research and tools to improve automated affective assessment, readability prediction, and essay scoring. The team has built several diagnostic and assessment platforms based on the aforementioned technologies for career interest assessment, Chinese language learning, and adaptive reading. These educational platforms have been used in many countries around the world, involving about three million students each year. By integrating theories of learning psychology and advanced technology, the research team is gradually reaching its goal of innovating teaching practice, promoting student development, and closing achievement gap in both primary and secondary education. The research team has also exported its technology to support overseas Chinese teaching and assessment practices. Additionally, the research results have infused new life into education industry and enhanced its development.
