CALL FOR PAPERS

With rapid development of technology, language teaching and learning have been redefined by academics that is focused on digital aids. This rising field provides a great potential for creating new environments for learners and instructors to enhance process and performance in second language acquisition. That is, such a method breaks new ground.

The 1^st Pan-Pacific Technology Enhanced Language Learning (PPTELL2018) aims to create an opportunity for experienced scholars to share their knowledge of language learning with advanced technologies and also for practitioners to share their original works in this field. Through interactions with the experts in particular fields, this conference promotes not only the interdisciplinary and international cooperation between universities and industries but also the development of thriving industries in TELL.

PPTELL2018 is going to focus on the following six topics.

Topic 1: Artificial Intelligence/ Robotic technology in technology-enhanced language learning

Topic 2: Augmented reality/Virtual reality in technology-enhanced language learning

Topic 3: Mobile computing technology in technology-enhanced language learning

Topic 4: Big data and learning analytics in technology-enhanced language learning

Topic 5: Game-based language learning

Topic 6: Intelligent assessment and evaluation in technology-enhanced language learning

We invite paper submissions reporting original academic theories or practical work in the area of Advanced Learning Technologies and Technology-enhanced Learning.

The paper should include:

(1) Title of research paper;

(2) Abstract;

(3) Main body of paper.

Authors will receive feedback of the submitted paper by 30^th of June, 2018. Full papers should be submitted at the conference website: Upload full-paper(PPTELL 2018 only accepts PDF files). Ahead of submission of your respective full papers, please carefully read over the conference template(PDF version/ MsWord version). The anticipated types of submissions for all tracks are:

Long paper: 5 pages

Short paper: 3 pages

Posters: 2 pages

Papers submitted must not have been published previously or under consideration for publication. All papers will be double-blind peer-reviewed. The acceptance process will focus on those papers that make original scientific contributions in the form of theoretical and experimental research.

Authors of the best papers, selected from all the tracks by the Program Chairs, are sincerely invited to submit extended versions of their conference papers to the following publication: (i) a special issue in CALL Journal (SSCI), (ii) Journal of Chinese Language Teaching (TSSCI & THCI Core) and (iii) Book chapters in Virtual and augmented reality for enhancing Chinese learning edited by Yu-Ju Lan (Springer Publishing).
